Enjoy an Italian Holiday Dinner with Campus Dining

In honor of the upcoming holidays, Penn State Campus Residential Dining invites all to the second special dinner of the semester, an Italian Holiday. The festivities will be at all five dining commons during dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016.

Attendees should get ready by packing their bags and preparing to experience world renowned Italian cuisine paired with holiday inspired options right here at University Park. The Italian holiday begins in the North of Italy with a vespa ride and Italian soda and peppermint hot chocolate to get into the holiday spirit. We will then travel closer to the birthplace of Leonardo Da Vinci and experience Italian Wedding Soup and Langostino Bisque. An optional excursion will be to visit the bread and dip bar that will be stocked with a ricotta lemon basil honey spread, hot spinach artichoke dip, olive bread, ciabatta bread, a cured meat platter and a grilled vegetable platter.

Once our tour group has reconvened, we will head toward the Leaning Tower and to our entrees of gnocchi with brown butter and pine nuts, stuffed braciole, linguini with clams, mussels and calamari and Italian polenta with tomato eggplant sauce. While passing the Coliseum, you will get to experience sides of pea and parmesan risotto, sauteed fresh greens and broccoli rabe. Our holiday will then end at the bottom of the boot with tiramisu, pecan tassies and ricotta cookies.

We will be dispatching at various times depending on the dining location. Typically, dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information on campus dining hours please visit: http://foodservices.psu.edu/residential-dining-hours-fall-2016.

Spots on our holiday getaway are first come first serve so be sure to arrive while supplies last. See you there!
