Fall Semester Dining Updates

Beginning next week, guests dining at University Park will see additional options in the Buffet to Go and a la carte areas. In addition, hours will be adjusted to accommodate new options and best serve guests' dining patterns.
In the Buffet to Go, food safety and physical distancing will remain imperative and it is requested that guests do not re-enter the Buffet to Go lines. Guests should gather all items for their meal as they make their way through the one-way queues and servers will provide packaging for guest convenience. Daily menus will be expanded to include additional entree options with a wider selection of protein and side offerings and a daily vegetarian feature. The Buffet to Go will offer an expanded salad station as well as Penn State Bakery and Creamery ice cream desserts for added guest convenience.
Additional a la carte stations will be open beginning Monday, September 14 including:
East Food District: Bowls, Salad Station, and Deli Station
South Food District: In A Pickle with Salad Station, Redifer City Grill and Fresco y Caliente
West Food District: Pizza Station
North Food District: Deli Station
Redifer City Grill will utilize Penn State Eats mobile ordering via the Penn State Go app to assist in proper distancing and limiting capacity. The Pizza Station at West Food District and Deli at East Food District will also be added soon. Guests may visit locations, hours of operation and menu specifics at foodservices.psu.edu and by following @pennstatedining on Twitter and Instagram for additional updates and information throughout the semester.
Safety will remain the top priority for the staff and guests on campus and those needs will be balanced with current and evolving food service restrictions and guidelines from the federal, state and local government entities in decision making for the remainder of the semester. Dining options may need to be altered with little or no notice based on impact or changes on campus.
Enhanced safety protocols will remain in place for the remainder of the semester and include:
- Use of masks by all staff and guests
- Increased cleaning and sanitizing of high touch point areas using an EPA-approved disinfectant
- Increased cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms in adjacent commons spaces
- Plexiglass barriers at essential customer interaction areas
- Limited and distanced indoor and outdoor seating
- Takeout and grab-and-go options
- Implementation of Penn State Eats mobile ordering at select locations across University Park Campus
- Scan N' Go convenience store shopping and payment at select locations - Coming soon!
- Limited self-serve areas
- Self-swipe card payment
